Condolences to Dr. David Gill

I just read that Polly Gill, wife of Dr. David Gill, passed away on May 24, 2007.  Dr. Gill ran as the Democratic candidate for Congress in Illinois' 15th District in 2004 and 2006, and he is a user at dKos.

My condolences to him and his family.

(I apologize if this has been diaried already, but I searched and didn't find anything.)

Abramoff for Dummies?

I keep seeing mentions of the Abramoff scandal, and can see that it is potentially very important, and that it has implications for a lot of members of Congress.  Unfortunately, I haven't been following this story and I don't exactly know what happened and what all the issues are.  Is there a web page or three out there with a basic outline of Abramoff, his crimes, his connections, etc?  I would be very grateful for any links to help me get caught up.

(I'm sorry if this comes across as laziness; I truly don't mean to be lazy, but between work and trying to keep up with all the various Bush Administration outrages, I'm kind of overwhelmed.)
