It's been a great ride, but it's time to go: GBCW
Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 07:34:49 PM PDT
At long last, I've had enough.
It's way past time for me to move along.
In November of 2003, I signed up for an account here and since that day DailyKos has been my primary online source for political information. More importantly, it has been a place to voice my frustration with the calamity of the Bush administration and to express my support for the Democratic party as it attempts to reclaim power.
An unexpected side benefit has been the feeling of solidarity and community with fellow posters. I have truly enjoyed the exchanges with so many of you and have appreciated the insights and especially the good humor you have shared with me.
Now, however, my visits here have become less and less rewarding and I find myself more often than not frustrated, befuddled and angry after visiting here.
Yes, I can! Can you? (with poll)
Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 03:35:11 PM PDT
Can you can? We all know we can along with Obama because that's what his song tells us...over and over and over again. This guy sure can can!
Hillary says she can can, too.
Hillary and Barack supporters are always talking about which one of them can and which one of them can't can.
All these candidates who say they can got me wanting to can, too.
Last night I had a dream........
American Nurses Ass'n endorses Hillary
Mon Jan 28, 2008 at 04:34:23 PM PDT
The American Nurses Association, a national organization that represents the interests of 2.9 million nurses, has announced its endorsement of Senator Hillary Clinton.
This is a huge endorsement and shows that the hard-working men and women who toil in the nation's hospitals and clinics and nursing homes understand that Hillary Clinton is the best choice to tackle our health care nightmare.
The "C" Word

The title of this diary was originally C.U.N.T. and was changed at the request of several Kossacks.
This is the newest entry in the parade of vicious, sexist attacks on Hillary Clinton. It comes directly from the right-wing enemies of Senator Clinton who have now descended a step further on their journey to Hades.
Thanks to TPM Muckraker we in the hemisphere of the left have learned about "Citizens United Not Timid", the brainchild of Roger Stone, a well-known wingnut operative who cut his teeth working for Richard Nixon

BAGHDAD SCHOOLCHILDREN NEED SUPPLIES! PLEASE HELP
Mon Nov 21, 2005 at 08:59:02 AM PDT
The schoolchildren of Baghdad are in dire need of basic school supplies! The information below comes from Major Robert Bateman, the articulate U.S. military man whose letters appear frequently on Eric Alterman's blog
Altercation. He gave me permission to spread the word and so I am creating a diary in the hopes of engaging other Kossacks in this worthy project.
Please read this plea below and join me in this project to help the innocent and suffering schoolchildren of Baghdad. If you can't donate supplies, please recommend this diary so as many people as possible can see it. And please feel free to send this plea out to other blogs and to your friends.
As for myself, this opportunity gives me a way, albeit small, to do something positive and empowering in response to this dreadful war.
It's the criminalization, Stupid!
Mon Nov 08, 2004 at 10:26:19 AM PDT
I have supported abortion rights as my single-issue for many years. You can, therefore, imagine my dismay over the recent election.
I am writing everyone I know to urge a change in vocabulary so that we might reclaim our message on women's reproductive rights.
Heretofore, we must abandon the term "pro-life" and replace it with "pro-criminalizaton." Every elected official who proclaims to be anti-abortion must be labeled as "pro-criminalization." That puts the spotlight exactly where it should be and forces the public into an awareness of the gravity of the situation. We should be asking the anti-choice folks questions such as "who should go to jail and for how long?" We must drive home the reality that criminalization is the intended outcome of the anti-choice movement.
