The House Judiciary Committee just voted to hold Karl Rove in contempt of Congress for refusing to testify about his role in the railroading of Alabama Governor Don Siegelman.
Sometimes It's OK to be Sad
Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 09:57:01 PM PDT
I'm not sure exactly what I should write here. I know that there have got to be some folks at this site who are feeling down, either in general, or for specific reasons.
For some reason I was thinking it might be nice if folks had a place to vent, to post about their feelings, or to just talk about issues that are troubling or making them feeling down.
Why John Edwards Won't Endorse Hillary
Wed Mar 19, 2008 at 08:51:37 AM PDT
So I've been reading a lot of gossip about John Edwards endorsing Hillary.
Specifically, Richard Stengel of Time, while on Tweety's show, told a story about a scoop by Mark Halperin:
John Edwards. Senator John Edwards -- remember him? -- who's been conspicuously silent since he dropped out of the race, will endorse a Democratic candidate probably before North Carolina, certainly before North Carolina, possible before Pennsylvania. And our own Mark Halpern [sic] on the page [sic] says it's going to be Senator Hillary Clinton.
I keep hearing this over and over. I don't buy it.
The evidence, from John Edwards own statements, is that the horse left the barn a long time ago in terms of Edwards' support of Hillary.
And frankly, I believe Edwards has far too much integrity to pull a complete 180° on this.
Hillary's Attack Ad: Lifted From Fearmongering Bush / Reagan Ads?
Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 04:14:11 PM PDT
So Hillary put out an attack ad. You know the one, the "telephone ad":
It's 3 a.m., and your children are safe and asleep, But there's a phone in the White House, and it's ringing — something's happening in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call.
Whether it’s someone who already knows the world’s leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world. It’s 3 AM and your children are safe and asleep. Who do you want answering the phone?
Romney: "Who Let The Dogs Out? Who, Who!"
Mon Jan 21, 2008 at 08:26:40 PM PDT
Yes, folks, I'm serious.
Today on the campaign trail, in what can only be described as an exceedingly uncomfortable moment, a confused and frightened Mitt Romney, coming across a group of African American youngsters, actually blurted out through a forced smile, "Who let the dogs out? Who, Who!"

I'll be honest, I didn't read his site too often, but I most certainly knew of the work of Andy Olmsted.
He blogged under the name G'Kar at Obsidian Wings, and I just saw (by following a link from digby), that he died in Iraq.
